Sydney Fashion Week Feather Print Dress 1997

Geoffrey Parker has returned to Sydney after working in Paris for the past four years as senior women's ready-to-wear designer, Louis Feraud. In Sydney in 1997 his own fashion label launched it's collection at the Mercedes Sydney Fashion Week in 1997. His feather print dress was one of the many stunning pieces in his collection.

I worked with Geoffrey finding the beads that were unique. Eventually we dyed some to match the colour of the print. My task was to take this sheer fabric dress and enhance the feather design with satin bugle beads. It handled like air so need less to say it took much patience to keep the fabric under control whilst beading it. Bead after small bead the feather was transformed into a shimmering vision.
