BEADED EMBELLISHED ADORNMENTS with Karen Torrisi
DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED WORKSHOP
Experiment, create and play with beads, found objects, shapes and techniques to make exquisite creative appliqué shapes of your choice that can be used to adorn clothing, garnish jewellery panels, enrich crazy patchwork quilts, apply to cards or to beautify your textile art. Karen will guide you through bead embroidery stitches and techniques and bead weaving peyote stitch tubes to enable you to make your rich encrusted embellished dreams a reality!
You will be introduced to basic bead embellishment designs and compositions as well as identifying beads, the correct needles to use and correct techniques for starting and finishing.Stitching on seed beads, bugle beads, crystals & sequins is just the beginning of this workshop.
You will learn the following stitch techniques: running stitch & whip stitch beading, beaded & sequin loop work, centre seed bead anchor stitch, picot edging, vertical & diagonal bugle beads, crystals & sequin flowers with 3d stamens, peyote stitch tubes & fringing.This class is suitable for beginners or enthusiasts.
