This was a work that i really was creative with. Urbanite is a modern day tribal avatar. She is strong, regal, adorned yet feminine. She is juxtaposed onto a fine art painted background, a series of dots and shapes suggesting a tribal ancestory. Trails of scored impasto snake their way throughout the painting. She is painted as a dark shadow appearing out of the colour. Her form and that of the shadowing around the background floral & leaf shapes are made with the use of stencils and acrylic spray paint.
