Learn specialised skills in beading from beading expert Karen Torrisi. Karen studied with the late beading author Maisie Jarratt, attended the beading school, Ecole  D’ Broderie d’art Lesage, in Paris and has been beading professionally since 1994.

In this workshop, experiment, create and play with beads, found objects, shapes and techniques to make an exquisite creative appliqué shape of your choice that can be used to adorn clothing, garnish jewellery panels, enrich crazy patchwork quilts, apply to a head band or hair comb. Karen will guide you through bead embroidery stitches and techniques to enable you to make your rich encrusted embellished dreams a reality! You will be introduced to basic bead embellishment techniques as well as basic surface stitching with stranded cotton including single seed stitching, running stitch and whip stitch beading, beaded loop work, centre seed bead anchor stitch and flowers with 3d stamens. Stitching on seed beads, bugle beads, crystals & sequins is just the beginning of this workshop.
